Entrepreneurs are the heart of the world economy, but rarely the protagonist in a novel, unless as a villain. I believe they deserve a more complex rendering. My suspense novels portray aspirational characters operating in various Appalachian eras and business environments. My protagonists are inclined to consider laws and regulations as guidelines. Their code of ethics is fluid. A rational evaluation of known information and needs form the foundation of their morals. Covetousness is a constant threat to the protagonist’s relationships and honoring his commitments.
My novels explore the destructive impact that racism, hate, greed, and stupidity have of both the perpetrator and the innocent.
